Penicillin kills bacteria through the binding of the beta-lactam ring to DD-transpeptidase, inhibiting its cross-linking activity and preventing new cell wall formation. Without a cell wall, a bacterial cell is vulnerable to outside water and molecular pressures, which causes the cell to quickly die.
Amoxicillin is similar to penicillin in its bactericidal action
Clavulanic acid is in a class of medications called beta-lactamase inhibitors. It works by preventing bacteria from destroying amoxicillin.

Amoxicillin/Clavulanic acid is used in adults and children to treat the following infections:

Follow all directions given to you by your doctor or pharmacist
You may give/take amoxicillin before, with, or after food. Space the doses as evenly as possible throughout the day
Your doctor will advise you on how much medicine you should give to your baby or child. The usual dose is 40mg to 90mg of amoxicillin for each kilogram of body weight a day, given in two or three divided doses.

Diarrhea
Other severe skin reactions can include: changes in skin color, bumps under the skin, blistering, pustules, peeling, redness, pain, itching, and scaling.
Flu-like symptoms with a rash, fever, swollen glands, and abnormal blood test results.

A rectal temperature is 0.5 F (0.3 C) to 1 F (0.6 C) higher than an oral temperature.
An ear (tympanic) temperature is 0.5 F (0.3 C) to 1 F (0.6 C) higher than an oral temperature.
