Celecoxib is a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which is responsible for prostaglandin synthesis, an integral part of the pain and inflammation pathway.

Celecoxib is used in adults for the relief of signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Doses may change from patient to patient based on your age, your medical condition, and whether or not you are taking other medicines.
Continue taking your medicine for as long as your doctor tells you.
The capsules can be taken at any time of the day, with or without food. However, try to take each dose of the medicine at the same time each day.
The recommended dose is one capsule or as directed by the physician
Celecoxib is for adults only; it is not for use in children.
Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
If you have previously had an ulcer or bleeding in your stomach or intestines
If you are using celebrex at the same time as other non-acetylsalicylic nsaids such as ibuprofen or diclofenac.
If you smoke, have diabetes, raised blood pressure, or raised cholesterol
If your heart, liver, or kidneys are not working well your doctor may want to keep a regular check on you if you have fluid retention (such as swollen ankles and feet)
If you are dehydrated, for instance, due to sickness, diarrhea, or the use of diuretics (used to treat excess fluid in the body)
If you feel ill due to an infection or think you have an infection
If you are over 65 years of age as your doctor will want to monitor, you regularly

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medications including over-the-counter non-prescription medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and supplements.
