Brimonidine is an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that works by constricting blood vessels in the skin, reducing redness and flushing.

It is characterized by persistent redness, flushing, and visible blood vessels, as well as papules and pustules that can resemble acne. Rosacea can also cause a burning or stinging sensation, and in severe cases, the nose can become swollen and bumpy (rhinophyma).

Your doctor will tell you how to use this medicine. This will depend on your condition and how old you are.
Apply a pea-sized amount to the affected area once daily
Doses may be changed in special conditions so always follow your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions.
If you take more than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital straight away.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember it unless it is nearly time for your next dose.
Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for the forgotten dose.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Seek shade: Avoid direct sunlight during peak hours when the sun's rays are strongest. Seek shade under trees, umbrellas, or other protective structures.
Wear protective clothing: Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing that covers your arms and legs. Hats with wide brims can also help protect your face, neck, and ears.
Wear sunscreen: Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30. Apply generously and reapply every two hours, or more often if you are swimming or sweating.
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration, which can make your skin more susceptible to sunburn.
Use sunglasses: Wear sunglasses with UV protection to protect your eyes and the delicate skin around them from sun damage.
Be aware of medication side effects: Some medications can increase your sensitivity to sunlight and increase your risk of sunburn. Check with your doctor or pharmacist to see if any of your medications can cause photosensitivity.

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Store in the original package to protect it from moisture.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the box/blisters/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
