Mechanism Of Action Of Cefadroxil
- Cefadroxil is a cephalosporin for oral administration. Like penicillins, it is a beta-lactam antibiotic. It acts By binding to specific penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) located inside the bacterial cell wall thus it inhibits the bacterial cell wall synthesis.
- Without a cell wall, a bacterial cell is vulnerable to outside water and molecular pressures, which causes the cell to quickly die.

- Streptococcal pharyngitis and tonsillitis

- The usual recommended daily dosage for children < 40 kg is 30-50 mg/kg/day divided into two daily doses
